The VIRYA project was born in 2022, with the band taking shape in Wrocław in 2023. VIRYA play modern metalcore / modern metal, combining weight, progressive structures, electronics and melody. The live show remains the band's core: intense, direct and built around releasing energy together with the audience. No pain, no gain.
In 2024, the band released the EP "From The Ashes", followed on May 2, 2025 by the debut full-length album "Echoes Of The Modern Mind". In 2025, VIRYA reached the final of Road to Mystic, making the final four from 50 acts selected by the jury, and the final of Metal 2 The Masses Poland, the Polish pathway to Bloodstock Open Air.
In 2026, VIRYA placed second at Góra Rocka after reaching the final eight from 183 submissions. That summer, vocalist Marcin Janusiński joined the lineup, bringing experience from Gentuza and from organizing Emergenza and FestUza in Poland, and opening a new chapter in VIRYA's live development. In August, the band made the final three of the "Muzyczne Świry" competition at Zakrę Śmigem Fest, selected from 86 submissions from across Poland, and appeared at the same edition alongside acts including Turbo, Zacier and Stacja B. In September, VIRYA appeared on Radio RAM and then performed in Wrocław as part of the wrOFF "Włącz się na nowe!" initiative at Klub Łącznik.
